August 16, 2012 ~ Thursday

This is the view of our campsite from the Marina area.  It was really pretty here but HOT!

There weren't places to pull over and get photos which was a shame as the area around Walla Walla, WA was just breathingly beautiful.  The patterns on the hills from the crops was amazing and Judy and Sue both agreed they woudn't want to be the one of the tractors, plowing those patterns! SCARY!!

Lewis and Clark are a LARGE part of the history in this part of Idaho.

We arrived at Hell's Gate State Park in Lewiston, ID around noon to find we couldn't go to our site until 2pm.  We were allowed to park our 5th wheel in the shade in a big parking lot but that left 2 hours for us to kill and it was HOT!  Sue and Judy and the dogs walked down to a little store and they all had ice-cream.  We were included in the ice-cream....ah, NO!  NO FAIR!

They walked down to the Museum area and registered and again, without asking, were told a SECOND time they couldn't check in until 2 pm.  GRRRRRRRR  Obviously SOME people don't realize they are dealing with 4 BEARS!  Since the 5th wheel was in the shade, it wasn't "un-bearable" for us so we just waited in there, pouting over missing out on ice-cream!

Finally, there was an hour left to kill so they sat under a tree in the shade and talked (and talked) until it was FINALLY time to go into the park.

It's to hot to wait 2 hours!!!!!

Should I go bite the people that made THAT rule?

It is a really pretty park. We (Mac James and Sadie Rose) pitched our tent in the grass under a big tree, next to Sue and Judy. We could have had a fire but it was way to HOT!
